SATOM SA

Lightbox

An interactive tour inside the SATOM SA plant in Monthey to celebrate their 50th anniversary. We designed original content for this gamified tour as well as an iPad application for guides to control the pace of the visit and interactions along the way.

The Energiom was created in collaboration with Thematis Cultural Engineering SA to mark the 50th anniversary of SATOM SA. We scripted the experience as to involve visitors, encourage them to think and make them feel emotions. At each stagem we designed interactions to initiate an exchange between the guide and the visitors. Mini-games, discussions and pace are set by the guide to involve visitors in discovering the solution proposed by SATOM SA.

At the end of the tour, visitors take part in a quiz that provide a fun reminder of all the concepts covered during the visit. The design of the quiz is inspired by the surroundings of SATOM SA and animations show how the company’s solutions affect their region.

SATOM SA’s work is sometimes explained by technical details. To make it easier for everyone to understand, we have designed and animated customised diagrams, making the content easier to grasp by fun and accessible animations.

An app for the guides

The Energiom tour is a guided tour and can only be taken accompanied by a guide. That’s why we developed a custom web application, giving full control to guides over the flow of content displayed by the Lightbox screen. This way, guides can ,amage the pace of the visit, highlight certain parts of the animated diagrams and validate in live the answers to the question they asked their group.

The application was designed for iPads. Their big screens have the abilty to display all the information you need to present each step of the tour. The iPad is also connected to a photo-termal camera whose system is fully integrated to our web application.

We finally provided a back-end from which texts and statistics can be configured in several languages, in order to keep the application up to date with the company’s latest developments.
