Anna 1971
An interactive narration to commemorate 50 years of women's suffrage in Switzerland. Inspired by true events and including numerous archive documents, this game is recognised as a recommended teaching resource in Swiss schools.
This game was developed in response to a call for projects lauched by SRG SSR to commemorate 50 years of women’s suffrage in Switzerland. The aim was to develop an interactive tool specially designed for young people who did not witness this essential part of the Swiss history.
We chose to create an interactive fiction based upon an uchronia: what if the social media had been around in 1971? By reproduicing a fictional social media, we used design codes that were familiar to our target audience, which allowed them to discover organically the many pedadogical contents spread in the game.
In this game, the players’ decisions shape the course of the story and allow them to relive historical events from the inside. Each of these events and subjects included in Anna 1971 were thoroughly checked by a history professor, Brigitte Studer, and all are accompanied by video and radio archives from the SSR SRG.
